Concept:
The goal of this project was to make a poster that not only grabs the viewer's attention, but also compels them to buy this otherwise plain, wooden elephant advertised on Craigslist. Embracing a playful yet nostalgic tone, I wanted this poster to evoke a sense of whimsy through a palette of pastel cool tones punctuated by a burst of warm color. The visuals will strike a delicate balance between simplicity and intricacy, incorporating Eastern-inspired typography to add depth. Central to its design will be a vibrant, visually striking representation of the elephant rendered in bright pastel hues, immediately drawing the viewer's gaze. Through thoughtful composition and judicious use of negative space, the poster will maintain the viewer's interest, guiding their eye toward the essential details, such as the price of the elephant.

Inspired by the creative flair of 2024 calendar year posters and fueled by a deep admiration for mythical creatures, particularly dragons, I felt compelled to create my own poster. The fusion of aesthetics and practical functionality has always been a driving force behind my creative pursuits. This self-initiated project presented the perfect opportunity to indulge in my passion for dragons while refreshing my skills in pattern-making.

This poster serves as a captivating invitation to Belltown Bloom festival-goers, enticing them to take notice and engage with the event now in its third year. Exuding a distinct "femme grunge" ambiance, it employs a blend of color, texture, subject matter, and composition. At its core, an abstract portrayal of Nadya Tolokonnikova, leader of "Pussy Riot," commands attention, serving as the focal point.
